I was commissioned to paint a basic IKEA children's table for Xavier's 2nd birthday. The concept was open so I chose a universally popular (so I believe) theme of animals - specifically those found on safari & of course, included his name. I chose to make the table top the feature and just continue some colour onto the sides and leave the legs white. I used semi-gloss Cotton Balls (Benjamin Moore) for the white base & gave all decoratively painted surfaces many, many coats of gloss top coat for protection.
Each time I do a furniture custom order - I enjoy it so much & want to do more! [ie: custom orders welcome :)]

I would have loved to document this table outdoors with sun shining & tall grasses surrounding...but it was November!
I couldn't resist doing each letter of his name to reflect each animal represented...
