decor concepts - revisited!

My decor concept posts are back! A while ago I had some fun putting together decor concepts based on my original paintings for nursery decor. Well, I'm starting it up again - yay! They are so fun for me to do and combine 2 of my loves; artwork & interior design. These concepts may be jumping off points or inspirations to create a look that you love if you are planning a nursery design or kids room. I aim to source from Etsy as well as other well known & accessible brands.

So here is a fresh decor concept that would suit any gender neutral nursery based on a recent painting of mine 1...2...3...Hot Air Balloons.

Up in the Sky

Mobile: an Etsy find from MilbotandChooky I love the simplicity & small splashes of colour which compliment the whimsical nature of both hot air balloons & rainbow rain drops!

Crib Bedding: the Skyline pattern from Dwell Studio What drew me to choose this pattern was the drawing style of the city skyscrapers, how it picks up the colours from the painting in a subtle way and the contrast of what's up in the sky.

Roman Shade Fabric: an Etsy find from a great fabric shop PoppySeedFabrics This shop carries so many contemporary, graphic patterns! I am still loving the current chevron trend and think that a splash of sunny yellow in a crisp chevron fabric made into a tailored roman blind (lined with dim out fabric of course) would accent the warm colours of the hot air balloons perfectly.

Toy: every nursery needs a toy that also can stand as a decorative sculpture until baby is ready to put it into action. This handcrafted stacking cloud toy by ImaginationKids is modern and beautiful.

I could go on and on including paint colour, furniture, rugs, etc.!

What do you think of this decor concept?
